He is my Hope

Awaken Dream Big God Dreams HE is my Hope

So, if you read the blog post written back in September titled A New Song, you're aware of my struggle to accept my role at Stuffology. You may recall that my career path has been as a nurse. Retail and small business is something I am learning.  I'm thankful my parents are my "bosses" and are patient as I learn and find my place.  Back in October, I felt God guiding me to bring forth my call to help others as part of my role at Stuffology.  Now, my parents have always been involved in our community and our church.  They go above and beyond in serving, whether in giving of their time or from their pocketbook.  In reality, there has always been a spirit of service in the culture of Stuffology.

Stuffology has been a gift, an evolving plan. To sum up what that gift has been for my family, I'd use the word HOPE!  We are learning that God has been paving a way through Stuffology to help spread HOPE and we are being called to share our gift.  He has been behind the scenes engineering our circumstances long before we were aware.  We recently began a collection of products we are calling our Dream Big Collection.  This is one avenue that will allow us to serve those around us. We are dreaming beyond the things we have imagined.  We are praying our dreams are God breathed and that He remain the center of our steps. "We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." -Ephesians 2:10

A few days ago, I happened upon a set of verses:

"I love you LORD; you are my strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior, my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.  He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. I called on the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies. The ropes of death entangled me, floods of destruction swept over me.  The grave wrapped its ropes around me; death laid a trap in my path.  But in my distress I cried out to the LORD; yes, I prayed to my God for help.  He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears.  Then the earth quaked and trembled.  The foundations of the mountains shook." -Psalms 18:1-7 NLT

The next few verses go into detail how the LORD came down and rescued David from his enemies.  That day, as I read those verses, I was overwhelmed with the sense of unending, amazing love that is unmatched.  I was brought to tears as I read the effort that God put into saving David.  Y'all, this love that David sang about in thanksgiving from the end of his life is the same love that the LORD desires to pour out over each of us.  He wants to be our strength when we're at the end of our rope.  He wants to be our rock, our fortress, our savior, our protector, and to shield us from our enemies.  All we have to do is to cry out to Him.  How many times do we fail to cry out to Him?  Or maybe we do call out and surrender, but it's not long before we return to our old ways of micromanaging all of life's details.  As a former micromanager and one who needs frequent reminders, let me tell you-  He is our HOPE.  He is our ONLY HOPE!  We can grasp and attempt to hold all the pieces of life together, but the truth is, it isn't our's to control!!

As I read those verses that day, I began to imagine all of the people who have no idea about the HOPE that is available through Jesus Christ our Savior.  They face each day with a sense of hopelessness.  They have no idea the love He desires to overwhelm us with.  I thought about people all over the world but I also thought about people right here in my own community. Even as Christians, Satan is in constant battle vying for our attention.  He will use whatever scheme he can to detour our course.  But, I have news, he will not win.  Do not let him lead you down a path of hopelessness any longer!  We have a Savior who waits with open arms to fill your life with hope and overwhelm your heart with peace.

We've been praying for months for wisdom to know what ministry to support and where to assert our efforts for our Dream Big Project.  Not long ago, my mom mentioned that she and my dad have felt a calling to begin a community wide Bible study. We have the perfect location, a building that was formerly used as my Dad's workshop.  It is on a main street and in the center of town, but in need of some repairs and has been vandalized. Ding, ding!!  Right then we recognized there is much more to this story.   Our dream is even bigger than we imagined.

We've been asked if we've considered moving our store to a larger city... We are more aware than ever that Stuffology - Where Vintage Meets Modern is in Crosbyton, Texas for a reason.

What is ahead for this Dream Big Project?  Not totally sure, but I am sure of one thing, God is there and that is somewhere I want to be!  Before, I would have been a hot mess writing all of this and not really knowing what God had ahead.  I'll be honest, I wasn't totally sure I wanted to write this post at all. But I'm also learning to be obedient.

"Embracing uncertainty is one dimension of faith." Mark Batterson

So, here is what we're here to share: THERE IS HOPE!  HIS NAME IS JESUS CHRIST.  HE HAS ALREADY PAID THE PRICE FOR ALL THE THINGS YOU'VE DONE WRONG.  HE DESIRES TO LOVE YOU.  TO ACCEPT THAT LOVE , ADMIT THE THE THINGS YOU'VE DONE WRONG AND ALLOW HIM TO BE SAVIOR OF YOUR LIFE.  LET GO and LET GOD!  There is a life of freedom that lies ahead for you when you let go!  Will that life be perfect and problem free, no, but our God is bigger than any thing we face and He will be with us guiding us along the way.

Proclaim Hope in your own life.  Tell Satan to get lost.  Dream Big, God Dreams.

"I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus... Only let us live up to what we have already attained." Philippians 3:14,16 NIV
